International Day for the Eradication of Poverty - 17th October

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty has been observed every year since 1993, when the General Assembly,  designated this day to promote awareness of the need to eradicate poverty and destitution in all countries, particularly in developing countries - a need that has become a development priority. 

The theme for this year is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty --  “Working together out of poverty” 


So, let's join hands and fight poverty!

World Teacher's Day ( 5th October )

The United Nations' (UN) World Teachers' Day celebrates the role teachers play in providing quality education at all levels. This enables children and adults of all ages to learn to take part in and contribute to their local community and global society. 

Our task is extremely rewarding.
I wish all the teachers a  good school year !

October is being celebrated as International School Library Month (previously International School Library Day held on the fourth Monday in October). School librarians around the world have a unique opportunity to share with each other, and perhaps more importantly, others in education and in our school communities.
