On 17th December my English class ( 9th B) made a tribute to Jonh Lennon. Like the lyrics says, we wish a better world, full of peace, solidariety and love.

I thank the dedication and enthusiasm of my students.

"Chaga and the Chocolate Factory" is the name of the short story we have studied in the English class, 9th grade. It describes the inhuman conditions young children have to face in the cocoa plantations in the Ivory Coast, West Africa. Children are forced to work long hours, they are beaten and at night they are put in shacks.

The main character of the story is Chaga, a poor ten year old boy , who lives in Mali, Africa, with his six brothers and sisters. On day the Bicycle Man appeared and promised him a new life. He could work in the chocolate factory and earn enough money to buy a bicycle and take care of his family. But Chaga’s dreams and hopes became a nightmare. He was forced to work long hours, carrying heavy bags of cocoa beans, along the plantation.

World Music Day: 1st October

What would life be without music? The world would be a very quiet place. Music is in many ways the fabric of ourlives and the definition of society. Music is the perfect art and our lives would be that much less complete without it.

Super Tramp ( School )

I can see you in the morning when you go to school
Don't forget your books, you know you've got to learn the golden rule,
The teacher tells you stop your playin' get on with your work
And be like Johnnie - "too-good", don't you know he never shirks
- he's coming along!

After school is over you're playing in the park
Don't be out too late, don't let it get too dark
They tell you not to hang around and learn what life's about
And grow up just like them - won't let you work it out
- and you're full of doubt

Don't do this and don't do that
What are they trying to do? Make a good boy of you
Do they know where it's at?
Don't criticize, they're old and wise
Do as they tell you to
Don't want the devil to
Come and put out your eyes

Maybe I'm mistaken expecting you to fight
Or maybe I'm just crazy, I don't know wrong from right
But while I am still living, I've just got this to say
It's always up to you if you want to be that
want to see that
want to see it that way
- you're coming along!
